Kaleidoscopes are manufactured by Crossnore youth as a component of the "World of Work" program designed to help our youth be self-sufficient and become a responsible, contributing citizen. Antique bobbins manufactured in the early 1900s by American craftsmen for use in textile factories are cleaned and refurbished to form the kaleidoscope tube. Students then assemble each kaleidoscope using three polished mirrors and an assortment of colorful translucent beads to produce a unique "folk art" collectible. 9" long.
