Crossnore
School loves to celebrate and it's not hard to find reasons.
Birthdays, school achievements, cottage goals met, bountiful
gardens, holidays all give us reason to have a party.
Special friends who will adopt a cottage to provide for
all the residents the merry making materials required
for a party help a great deal. |

We
make birthdays a big deal at Crossnore. Each birthday
child gets a special cottage party in his or her honor.
There is a cake, decorations and gifts. In a life that
has known so little happiness, a party tells the child
he or she is special. Birthday buddies provide a cake
for the party, and can help with decorations and gifts.
And they are welcome to share the joy around the table. |

Volunteer opportunities We make Valentines a special celebration,
too. With suits and dresses donated by friends through
the Blair Fraley Sales Store, our residents dress up and
learn the joy of making an impressive personal presentation.
We teach manners and dating etiquette and social skills
that will serve them well in the world beyond Crossnore.
Volunteers help us decorate the Dickson Gymnasium and
provide the special food and entertainment for the party. |
